Ceramic Introspection

When creating art, and for myself ceramic art, how do i get my "pots" feel like they are thinking about something. Whether that is their enviroment, or the "pots" next to them or whatever, how do i get them to portray that feeling? If i make a entire set of say, drinking glasses and have one look like its reaching for something more than just belonging to the group, does that convey the message that i am looking for? I have been getting analyses from various people recently, about who they "think" or "see" me as. All of them have been positive and very interesting for me to listen to as well as informative. One person told me that he believes that everyone whom i am around know that i can be very introspective and generally am. That, at times, i will take time to analize things and think about about them if i feel like i need to. He believes that people are much more aware of this than I give them credit for. This may be true but i am at the very least skeptical.
